The famous British manufacturer had a "disappointing year" in 2019 as sales of his cars fell below expectations
Aston Martin has agreed to sell a stake worth £ 182m (€ 216.4m) to a consortium led by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Strol.

The wealthy Canadian is one of the biggest proponents of rescuing the secret car manufacturer 007's favorite car maker, who has pledged to raise a total of £ 500m for a savvy investment in the famous carmaker.

By acquiring the stake, Strol, who otherwise owns the Formula One Racing Point racing team, also became the owner of one-fifth, or 20 percent, of Aston Martin.

The famous British manufacturer had a "disappointing year" in 2019 as sales of its cars fell below expectations due to weak sales of the Vantage in Europe and the UK.
Aston Martin President Andy Palmer said the investment would provide a long-term platform for the company to develop in the near future, reports The Scotsman.

For this reason, the British company views the upcoming launch of its first Aston Martin DBX SUV as one of the most significant events in its history.
