The world's first "Mega GT" features combined electric and liquid fuel propulsion, which together deliver 1,700 horsepower
Swedish car maker Koenigsegg, like many reputable manufacturers, had big plans for the Geneva Motor Show, one of the most significant car shows in the world, canceled this year because of a virus corona.
Nor did the Swedes allow their latest trump card to go unnoticed. In addition to the Jesko Absolut model (the fastest car from the Swedish manufacturer), a novelty for 2021 was introduced - the Koenigsegg Gemer, the first "Mega GT" car and the first four-seater from the Koenigsegg production facilities. Gemera is actually the fastest four-seater in the world!
    - Two-seater with limited luggage space was known as high-performance cars until now. Gemera is representative of a new generation of mega cars with a spacious interior and high environmental standards. We call it the "Mega GT" - says CEO and founder of the company Christian von Kenigseg.
The Koenigsegg Gemera is a spacious car for four adults and the storage of their luggage, suitable for family trips. The company's CEO says Gemera's performance outperforms most internal combustion and electric two-seater cars.
The gamer is powered by three electric motors. Two are located on each of the rear wheels and one is located on the machine's crankshaft. Together they produce a strength of 1,100 horses. A two-liter, three-cylinder engine with two turbines and a dry inlet delivers 600 more horsepower.
The Koenigsegg Gemer boasts 1,700 horsepower and almost 3,500Nm of torque. Gemera accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 1.9 seconds, with a top speed of 399 km / h. The maximum speed on pure electric drive is 299 km / h. An 800V battery provides a driving range of 50 kilometers when using an electric motor, Carbuzz reports.
Koenigsegg claims that the vehicle meets environmental standards when using second-generation ethanol or CO2-neutral methanol - Vulcanol for engine operation. Before renewables become more affordable, Gemera drivers can use E85 fuel (a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline) or standard gasoline.
The company management claims that Gemera is the first car in its (new) category. It features a curved windshield, similar to the one on the fighter plane, hidden A-pillars, short suspension and large side air vents.
The front is inspired by the first prototype from 1996 - the Koenigsegg CC. Vertically lifted doors give passengers plenty of room to enter this unique superfast four-seater.
The price of the new Koenigsegg is still unknown, but it is almost certain that it will exceed one million euros and perhaps reach two million apiece.
